I am delighted to address you today, having dedicated the past 24 years to serving the vibrant communities and remarkable students of Southern California. Education has always been my unwavering passion, a calling that has driven me to devote my entire life to its pursuit.

 

Throughout my career as a teacher, principal, education consultant, and superintendent, I have had the privilege of positively impacting the lives of countless students in California. My personal journey as an English language learner and a student with a disability has fostered a deep connection with every student I encounter. It is this connection that fuels my belief in unleashing the immense potential within each and every student through an education that is inclusive, rigorous, and firmly rooted in the principles of dual-immersion and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

 

The philosophy of dual-immersion lies at the core of our educational approach at IIA. We believe in the power of embracing diverse languages and cultures, providing our students with a unique opportunity to become bilingual and bicultural individuals. By nurturing their linguistic abilities, we enable them to navigate a globalized world with confidence, empathy, and a deep understanding of different perspectives.

 

Furthermore, our commitment to STEAM education equips students with the skills and competencies essential for success in the 21st century.
